Brief introduction to the major

Chinese Education of Overseas Studentsis to train the Chinese ability and improve the abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing Chinese of foreigners in China or students fromoverseas institutions.

Education objectives

1.To master the pronunciation and writing of Chinese rule;

2.To achieve an appropriate level of listening,speaking,reading and writing ability；

3.To reach the corresponding level of HSK；

4.To have an overview of Chinese culture；

5.Senior students should have the ability of reading Chinesenewspapers and listening to the Chinese radio.

 Main Courses

Chinese basic skills include Chinese listening, speaking, reading and writing, and Chinese speaking, Chinese listening, Chinese reading, Chinese writing courseare set totrain these four basic skills respectively. At different stages, the proportion of each course is also slightly different. Beginners mainly focus on speaking and listening.Learners of intermediate and advanced level mainly focus on Chinese reading. They can also take elective courses according to their profession and interests.

HSK test module includes HSK level four, five,sixin HSK level counseling.  The training objectives of all levels correspond witheach level of HSK requirements, with focus on HSK junior above level. Students of primary level have four training sessions each week, and students ofmiddle and high level have six training sessions each week, to improve students’ability of HSK.

Chinese culture module includesan Overview of Chinese Traditional Culture, Chinese Traditional Cultural Practice(paper cutting, calligraphy, Taijiquan,Taiji Sword, Beijing Opera, tea ceremony) as well as the Experiencing of Chinese Culture(cultural tourism, the cultural experience of Dragon Boat Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival, etc.).

1. Strengthening the training of Chinese basic skills, improving the ability of Chinese listening,speaking,reading and writing.
